Privacy Policy

1. Who runs this service

MrWiseMax ("the app", "we") is an independently operated web application published at mrwisemax.com. For any question about this policy, or to ask for your data to be deleted, write to mrwisemikeyt@gmail.com.

2. What the app collects

Information from Google when you sign in

Signing in is handled entirely by Google. We never see or store your Google password. Google passes us three things, which our authentication provider records against your account:

• Your email address — used to identify your account and shown back to you on the Account page.
• Your name — recorded against your account.
• Your Google profile picture — recorded as a link against your account.

Your email address is the only one of these the app ever shows you, on the Account page. Your name and picture are simply what Google hands over at sign-in; nothing in the app displays them. We request no other Google permissions: no access to Gmail, Drive, Contacts, Calendar, or anything else in your Google account.

Information you type into the app

• Your accounts — the name you give each account, the amount you say it holds, its currency, and the date you last confirmed it.
• Your expenses — name, amount, currency, how often it charges, the next charge date, an optional end date, an optional note, and the group you file it under.
• Your income — the same fields, for anything that pays you on a schedule.
• Your groups — the name, colour, and icon you choose.

Information kept only in your browser

These never leave your device and are not readable by us. Clearing your browser data removes them:

• Your chosen main currency and whether you are viewing in USD.
• A cached copy of daily exchange rates, refreshed about once an hour.
• A flag remembering that you dismissed the one-time import banner.

A page-view count

Each time the home page or one of the app's own pages loads, 1 is added to a running total for the current month. That total is a single number. No identifier, no cookie, and nothing about you personally is recorded alongside it, so the count cannot be traced back to any visitor. This page and the Terms page do not count at all.

3. What the app deliberately does not collect

• No bank logins, banking passwords, or card numbers — the app has no connection to any financial institution.
• No advertising or tracking cookies, and no third-party analytics or ad networks.
• No location data, contacts, or device identifiers.
• No behavioural profile of any kind.

4. What your data is used for

Your entries exist for one purpose: to render your own dashboard. The figures you type are used to total your balances, work out what each cost comes to per month, and walk your upcoming charges and paydays against your balance to tell you what is covered. All of that arithmetic happens in your browser, on your own data.

Your email address is used to identify your account and, if you contact us, to reply. We do not send marketing email.

Your data is never sold, rented, or shared with advertisers or data brokers, and is not used to train machine-learning models.

5. Where your data lives, and who can read it

Your account and entries are stored in a hosted PostgreSQL database run by Supabase, on servers in the United States. Every table holding your entries is protected by row-level security: a database rule that makes each row readable and writable only by the signed-in account that owns it. Another signed-in user cannot query your rows, and the public API key published in the app's source cannot read them either.

The app holds no photos or files of yours — there is nothing to upload to it. Everything it stores about you is the text and figures listed above.

6. Third parties involved

MrWiseMax is a small static website and relies on a handful of outside services. Each of them necessarily sees your IP address when your browser contacts it, because that is how the web works:

• Google — provides sign-in, and receives the fact that you signed in to this app.
• Supabase — hosts the database and the authentication described above.
• GitHub Pages — serves the website's pages and files.
• Google Fonts — serves the Inter typeface.
• jsDelivr — serves the Supabase browser library and a free daily exchange-rate feed.
• Cloudflare cdnjs — serves the icon set used on this website.

None of these receive your financial entries, except Supabase, which stores them on our behalf. We do not pass your information to anyone else, other than where we are legally required to.

7. Keeping and deleting your data

Your entries are kept for as long as your account exists, because the app is only useful with them. You are in control of all of it:

• Any account, expense, income entry, or group can be edited or permanently deleted from inside the app at any time.
• Pausing an entry keeps it listed but stops it counting towards your coverage.
• To have your entire account and everything in it erased, email mrwisemikeyt@gmail.com from the address you signed up with. We will action it and confirm when it is done.

You can also disconnect MrWiseMax from your Google account at any time through your Google account permissions page. That stops future sign-ins but does not by itself delete data already stored, so email us as well if you want it gone.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have a legal right to access, correct, export, or erase the personal data we hold about you, and to object to its processing. The app already lets you do most of this directly. For anything it does not cover — a full export, for instance — email us and we will help. We do not charge for this.

9. Security

All traffic is served over HTTPS. Authentication is delegated to Google, so no password of yours is ever stored by us. Access to your rows is enforced in the database itself rather than only in the app's code. That said, no online service can promise perfect security, and we cannot guarantee it either.

10. Children

MrWiseMax is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will remove it.

11. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes to how your data is handled will be flagged in the app itself.
